Teen Outreach Program (TOP)
Teen Outreach Program® (TOP®) is focused on building social-emotional skills, developing a positive sense of self, and making a difference in the community.
Theory and Outcomes
To ensure that teens have equitable opportunities to achieve these outcomes, Wyman:
Empower teens through solid, high-quality programs that help teens gain the tools and skills to succeed.
Equips adults through training designed to help adults build relationships with teens by creating engaging and empowering learning environments
Strengthens systems through deep, collaborative partnerships to create more equitable and transformational opportunities for youth.
Objectives
Improve social, emotional, and life skills
Support development of positive sense of self
Strengthen connections to others
Improve academic outcomes and decrease risky behaviors
Curriculum
Ages of target population: Ages 12-17, covering grades 6th through 12th |
Population this program is best suited for: All schools, community-based youths, & foster-care youth |
A number of lessons:
• 12 lessons • Minimum of 25 meetings • 20 hours of Community Service Learning (CSL) |
Length of sessions: 45-60 minutes |
Scheduling options are as follows: Both options encompass 12 lessons, 25 meetings, and 20 hours of CSL. Option 1: 1 meeting per week for 32 weeks.
Option 2: 2 meetings per week for 16 weeks. |
Student-to-facilitator ratio: Not to exceed 25:1 (all other requests require approval) |
